Our sustainable knitwear collection consists of carefully selected, unique pieces that are entirely hand-knitted and hand-embroidered, bringing back the slow and precise art of handmade fashion, luxurious feels of the highest quality materials, and unique knitting patterns and details.

The selection is a combination of pieces designed by us in PÆTRIA_design and made ethically by our precious knitters in central Serbia, as well as a collaboration with the designer Marijana Andric from Maridruna* – a sustainable and small-scale Serbian knitwear brand that creates luxury pieces while promoting ethical responsibility. Maridruna collaborates with a community of knitters, some with over 60+ years of experience. Together, they focus on every fibre type, texture, and twist in the yarn to deliver a luxury handmade product with a contemporary design. We are slowly and mindfully expanding our brand range as we find new small, independent brands that both fulfill our strict requirements and live by the samme philosophy as we do.

This piece is extremely delicate and lightweight and can easily fit into a purse, so it`s always on hand.

Due to the delicacy of its fine mohair wool pattern details, as well as the handmade buttons, it takes couple of days to knit one Fiona cardigan.

Freyja is another sustainable knit from PÆTRIA design`s EVIG collection – hand-knitted and hand-embroidered cardigan, that brings back the slow art of embroidery, luxurious feels of the highest quality Icelandic wool (OEKO-TEX Certified) and unique knitting patterns and details. Freyja is made entirely of one strand of a single-ply fragile Plötulopi unspun wool, resulting in it being exceptionally light and airy, with gently padded shoulders and puffed arms. Just like our Chloë cardigan, Freyja is knitted by only a few experienced members of the amazing team of knitters we work with, that all wield the specific hand-twisting yarn technique required when working with this delicate wool. The handmade wool pom-poms and roses embroidery on this model are performed first after the piece has been knitted and by using several different stitching techniques and thread colors. Freyja takes pride in being both slowly and sustainably designed and created.

Due to the delicate collar knitting pattern, grid pattern and flower embroidery, it takes up to 9 days to create one Freyja cardigan.
