Their fiber is flame-resistant and it can also wick away moisture because of its unique ability to mimic cotton in moisture regain. This is what makes alpaca feel lighter than wool but warmer than cotton in cool, damp climates, as well as breathable and cooling when used in the warmer months of the year. Alpaca is considered to be one of the most luxurious, prized natural fibers in the world. Alpaca fleece is hypoallergenic.
