Our sustainable knitwear collection consists of carefully selected, unique pieces that are entirely hand-knitted and hand-embroidered, bringing back the slow and precise art of handmade fashion, luxurious feels of the highest quality materials, and unique knitting patterns and details.

The selection is a combination of pieces designed by us in PÆTRIA_design and made ethically by our precious knitters in central Serbia, as well as a collaboration with the designer Marijana Andric from Maridruna* – a sustainable and small-scale Serbian knitwear brand that creates luxury pieces while promoting ethical responsibility. Maridruna collaborates with a community of knitters, some with over 60+ years of experience. Together, they focus on every fibre type, texture, and twist in the yarn to deliver a luxury handmade product with a contemporary design. We are slowly and mindfully expanding our brand range as we find new small, independent brands that both fulfill our strict requirements and live by the samme philosophy as we do.

*every designer sold on PÆTRIA.com had to prove specified standards in regards to a sustainable production approach in form of fair treatment, and wages for the artisans, as well as high-quality standards of the materials that are used. Through these processes, we support fighting “greenwashing” and misleading marketing practices. We do not support or resale any fast fashion brands, nor pieces containing real leather, fur, or angora.

    Fiona knitted cardigan is that perfect little seasonless pop of color in your wardrobe. An ode to femininity, fully handmade (yes, the buttons too), praised with an amazing flower-like pattern, slightly puffed shoulders, and a dropping braided pattern at the bottom hem, for an enhanced waist. Fiona is gentle, yet conspicuous, imbued with the allure of simple elegance that leaves no one indifferent. This piece is extremely delicate and lightweight and can easily fit into a purse, so it`s always on hand.

    Due to the delicacy of its fine mohair wool pattern details, as well as the handmade buttons, it takes couple of days to knit one Fiona cardigan.

Jaqaru is made in a classical braid pattern, combined with detailed hem and cuffs, but what makes this piece a stand-out are the openings down the sleeves, created in an eye-catching twisted braid pattern. Jaqaru is the piece you will want to wear every day, throughout the year, due to its versatility and superb delicacy and lightness, that comes from the high percentage of pure alpaca wool.     Quinoa is a fully handmade crochet multicolor and multi-yarn crew neck sweater, made of the highest quality Peruvian pima cotton, in combination with the extremely soft FS alpaca yarn (FS stands for the superfine hand-brushed alpaca quality). Quinoa is one of the most unique pieces from the Ayni collection due to its amazing quinoa seed resembling pattern, combined with moderate balloon sleeves transitioning to hand-embroidered cuffs. The fully handmade Robe coat is designed to sit at a special intersection between off-duty indoor wear and braving-the-elements outerwear. Our Robe coat is a truly hygge-inducing, full-length, ultimate winter coat, made in dark gray wool, to be worn season after season.
