Chloë (/ˈkloʊi/; Greek: blooming) is PÆTRIA design`s hand-knitted and hand-embroidered cardigan, that brings back the slow art of embroidery, luxurious feels of the highest quality Icelandic wool (OEKO-TEX Certified) and unique knitting patterns and details. Chloë is made entirely of 2-strands of a single-ply fragile Plötulopi unspun wool, resulting in it being exceptionally light and airy, yet sturdy enough. Chloë is knitted by only a few experienced members of the amazing team of knitters we work with, that all wield the specific hand-twisting yarn technique required when working with this delicate wool. Chloë takes pride in being both slowly and sustainably designed and created.

It takes up to 7 days to hand-knit and embroider one Chloë cardigan.

SIZING: MADE-TO-MEASURE or our standard sizing (see the link with the chart below). The model is 175 cm/ 5′ 8″ tall and wears our standard sized Chloë in 50cm length. Our standard sizes come in 2 lengths, 50cm and 57cm, measured from the top of the shoulder to the bottom hem.

Details and Care

100% unspun Icelandic wool

Designed in Norway. Made in Serbia.

Chloë is featuring a relaxed, slightly cropped and boxy fit, a v-neck, a front button fastening, a cable knit, hand-embroidered details and a ribbed hem and cuffs.

Chloë is a 100% mulesing free wool garment and no animals were harmed in the wool production process. All dyes used in the colored embroidery are certified according to OEKO-TEX 100 standard, completely toxic-free and eco-friendly. Chloë is made of wool produced by the icelandic Istex, which is today 80% proudly farmer-owned. Every person involved in creating this piece has been fairly paid and treated. 

Note that actual colors might vary slightly from your monitor. 

Instead of washing, air out your woollen garments from time to time. Wash only if stained. We suggest hand-washing our wool pieces in cold water with a gentle, natural soap. We love any organic soap that has little scent, in a small dose. DO NOT PRE-SOAK THE PLÖTULOPI GARMENTS IN THE SUDS. Wash the garment by squeezing the suds through the knitwear then rinse thoroughly in cold or lukewarm water. Dry flat, smooth the garment out and pull gently into shape.

How to Wear It

Chloë is a must-have cardigan that you will wear and love for years, a high-quality handmade piece that is to be a staple in your wardrobe. Gorgeous with denim, stunning over a dress. Wear it buttoned or unbuttoned over a silk dress, with a straw bag and low heel sandals. The ivory/off-white colored base of Chloë allows it to be combined with many different colors. Once ready, pass it on to your next generation or simply someone you love.

    Saga is a fully hand-knitted and hand-embroidered artisanal piece. A midi length style coat with a slightly pointy hood, made in 100% organic, mulesing-free, and naturally dyed wool. Saga is knitted in off-white wool and tightly embroidered with black wool threads by using a very precise and time-consuming embroidering technique with a thick needle.
